Good Morning Gresham Wildcats,

Today is Wednesday, April 15, 2020

Announcements for today include:

**Happy Birthday to Mykalynn

**This is Severe Awareness Week:  This week, April 13 through April 17 is severe weather awareness week.
WATCH VS. WARNING VS. ADVISORY:

watch means that conditions are favorable for severe weather to occur. If you are in or near the watch area, be sure to monitor the weather conditions closely and have a plan in place should your area be placed under a warning. For longer-lived events (such as floods or winter storms), the watch means that the event isn't an immediate threat, but the threat is still there.

warning means that the weather event is imminent or occurring somewhere in the warning area and you need to shelter immediately. A warning is usually issued if a storm spotter has confirmation of the weather event. It could also be issued if radar confirms or indicates the weather event is occurring. In the Winter, the warning means that travel or venturing outside is discouraged.

An advisory means that hazardous weather is either occurring, imminent or likely. An advisory is less serious than a warning, but caution is still needed to be exercised, otherwise it could lead to life or property being threatened.

**Here are a few words of wisdom:
Marian Anderson was the first African - American ever to play a major role
at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. She also served her country
as the U.S. delegate to the United Nations in 1955. She was a bright and
talented human being who cared about people.
Now listen to what she has to say to us today. She says:
You lose a lot of time hating people.
Let's think about that. Life is precious, right? And every moment holds
potential and possibility. What a terrible waste of our precious time and
energy when we spend time entertaining hateful thoughts.
Today, let go of hateful thinking so you can make room for positive
thinking. Remember, you have the freedom to choose your thoughts , and
what you choose to think determines who you are and what you will become.

**With something to think about, Make it a great day... or not. The choice is yours.
