***This week has been proclaimed as Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes a year. The National Weather Service has confirmed 39 tornadoes touched down in the state of Wisconsin during 2025. 2025 was the 6th most active year for tornadoes in history.
On Thursday, April 16, 2026, a statewide tornado drill is planned.
If there is bad weather on Thursday, the tornado drill will be conducted on Friday, April 17, 2026. Thanks in advance for everyone’s cooperation during this important MOCK drill.
