We talked before about the importance of setting goals. Setting goals
gives you something to aim for. But sometimes when we are setting goals,
we don't aim high enough. We are afraid of missing the mark, of failing.
Now listen to what great American writer Henry David Thoreau says about
setting goals:
In the long run men hit only what they aim at. Therefore,
though they should fail immediately, they had better aim
for something high.
Here's another way of saying the same thing.
Shoot for the moon. If you don't make it, you'll still be
heading for the stars.*
Today, think about the goals you've set for yourself. Then ask yourself this:
Am I aiming high enough?
