How many 9 and 10 year old published authors do you know? How about 24! The 4th graders wrote an informational paragraph during their literacy unit on the Middle Ages and with the help of Mrs. Onesti, they created their illustrations. Congratulations 4th graders!
In 5th grade today we were learning about adding fractions, making common denominators, and little about about baking! With the cake we made we were able to celebrate Ms. Libby’s last day working with us!

Today US History I students began research for their Civil War projects. Students will engage in independent research about a selected topic from the Civil War in order to create an original, authentic product of their learning.
Physics class has been working on a mechanical advantage pulley system lab the past couple of classes. They needed to create a pulley system that had an ideal MA of 6 or 7 where a 500ml bottle of water would lift a 2000ml bottle of water.

Starting today, March 1st, the Gresham Bands are beginning their March Madness Bracket of wonderful concert band marches! Each day that the band classes meet, we will be starting class with a listening activity that involves two Marches. The bands would LOVE to have your involvement on this as we begin the battle to see which March will be left standing at the end of the month! The fourth grade class met the author of “Bunker the Pug, Creatures of the Couch” via zoom. Austin Allyn read his book aloud to the class and answered questions the students had. There was plenty of laughs and smiles throughout the presentation. They cannot wait for the next book!

BIO II students completed a sheep eye dissection this week. They were amazed at the tapetum iridescent coloring found in the posterior inner portion of an animal’s eye.
