Bridging Brighter Smiles, our mobile dentist provider at school will be here next week October 7 & 8th.
Wednesday, October 8th - they will have a special event for any student who has a completed and signed enrollment form; will get a free bag of popcorn at lunch. New this year; this service will provide x-rays right at school. So if you haven't signed up or renewed; please do before next Tuesday. Orange Shirt Day, observed annually on September 30, is a day for remembering and honoring the Indigenous children who were forced into Canadian residential schools and suffered abuse, neglect, and the loss of their culture and identity. The day was created by Indigenous communities to raise awareness about the trauma and intergenerational impacts of these schools and to promote truth, reconciliation, and a commitment to a future where "Every Child Matters". The orange shirt serves as a symbol of this forced assimilation and loss, inspired by the experience of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at a residential school.
